Application Process for Firefighters

The Arlington Heights Fire Department will be accepting applications for the position of Firefighter. The application deadline is Friday, October 5, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. For additional details and instructions on how to apply please, visit iosolutions.com.

 

You must meet the following minimum requirements:

$25 non-refundable application fee;
No felony convictions;
U.S. citizenship;
High School Diploma or equivalent (GED);
21 to under 35 years of age by date of written exam (November 10, 2018), unless exempt according to state statute;
Valid driver’s license;
Applicants must submit proof of a valid Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT) and Approved Ladder Climb card from a licensed agency issued between January 1, 2018 and November 10, 2018.
Vision correctable to 20/20 in both eyes and free from color blindness
Pass medical examination including drug screening.

 

Testing Information:

 

Candidates must attend the written examination on Saturday, November 10, 2018.  Please arrive no later than 9:00 a.m. with a photo ID (driver’s license, state ID, military ID) to sign-in.  Test will be held in Arlington Heights, IL – Exact location will be released to eligible candidates.

 

Doors will open for sign-in at 8:30 a.m. Testing will begin immediately after sign-in and will consist of a timed written examination. There is a Preparation Guide available to assist you in preparing for the Firefighter Selection Tool™. The preparation guide can be purchased online.
