Parkview Apartments

A 7-story mixed use building with a total of 45 residential  rental apartment units with a small commercial space on the first-floor is being proposed at 212 N. Dunton Avenue.  The property is zoned B-5, Central Business District and is approximately 0.4 acres (17,424 square feet) in area.  The proposal includes 16 one bedroom, 24 two bedroom, and 5 three bedroom apartments that would be located on floors three through seven.  Nineteen (19) units will be available as affordable rental units.  Parking is located on the first and second floors and approximately 1,254 square feet of leasable commercial space on the first-floor. Construction began Spring 2017.


Hickory Kensington AreaHickory Kensington Area: Tax Increment Financing District

In 2012, the Village held numerous public meetings with property owners and nearby residents to discuss the Hickory Kensington Area Plan.  The Plan, which was approved by the Village Board in January 2013, amended the Village's Comprehensive Plan setting forth Goals and Objectives and specific Recommendations and Actions to implement the Plan.  Recommendation #4 was to rezone the area to allow for residential and mixed use development up to five floors.  The Village Board subsequently rezoned the area in June 2013, again after numerous public meetings.  A Tax Increment Financing District was approved by the Village Board on July 21, 2014.  Planning & Community Development Staff is now moving forward with plan implementation.
