With cold temperatures and snow being a part of future weather forecasts, the Village is looking to match up teens who will shovel snow for residents who are over the age of 60 or have a disability. Both teens and qualified residents are encouraged to register for the Snow Shoveling Referral Program.

The program is a great way for young residents to help residents in need of assistance. Residents registered for the program will be provided with a list of teens in their area willing to shovel. The resident is responsible for contacting the teen and for making the scheduling and financial arrangements. The teen is responsible for snow shoveling or notifying the resident if they are unable to complete the work.

Interested residents who are eligible for the program should fill out the Snow Shoveling Referrals Request form, and teens willing to assist with shoveling should fill out the Teen Application for Snow Shoveling

This is a great program that showcases neighbors helping neighbors and making a positive difference in our quality of life.

The program was initiated by the Arlington Heights Youth Commission, endorsed by the Arlington Heights Senior Citizens Commission and the Arlington Heights Commission for Citizens with Disabilities.
