Memorial Day Parade

Everything turns red, white and blue as Arlington Heights shows its appreciation of the service provided by our military, veterans and fallen heroes during the 100th annual Arlington Heights Centennial Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony that begins at 9:30 a.m. on Memorial Day, Monday, May 27th! The parade is organized by the Veterans Memorial Committee.

Take a look back 100 years ago at the first World War 1 Homecoming Parade that honored the service and sacrifice of our veterans and their families. Enjoy a wonderful video tribute to the Centennial Memorial Day Parade. Thank you for joining in this community reflection of honor, sacrifice and duty.

Following the parade, a ceremony is held at 11 a.m. in Memorial Park to honor and remember all Veterans and Fallen Heroes who bravely served our nation. The parade steps off at 9:30 a.m. at Sigwalt and Arlington Heights Road in front of the Village Hall.

From there, the parade travels on Sigwalt west to Dunton, north on Dunton to Euclid, west on Euclid to Chestnut, south on Chestnut to Memorial Park.

At the end of the parade, the Memorial Day Ceremony honors and remembers all who have given their lives for our Freedoms - especially Arlington’s Fallen Heroes – the 58 young men from our town who died in the service of our Nation from the Civil War through Afghanistan.  At this Ceremony, a list of names of area veterans who have passed away in the preceding 12 months is also read.

To participate in the Arlington Heights Memorial Day Parade, please complete the application and return by email or fax to: Greg Padovani, Chairman, Veterans Memorial Committee at greg.padovani@gmail.com or fax it to 312.896.5863. The deadline for parade applications is May 20, 2019.
