Community Bike Ride

Enjoy a scenic bike ride through Arlington Heights by participating in the Bike Arlington Heights Community Bike Ride at 9 a.m. at North School Park on Saturday, May 11.

Riders will leave from North School Park, located at Eastman and Arlington Heights Road, with route guidance provided from members of the Arlington Heights Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Commission and the Arlington Heights Police Department's bike patrol. The ride begins with a four-mile “starter” loop.

After four miles, riders will have the option to continue on the longer loop for a total of 13 miles.

The theme of this ride is “ride to the parks,” which will help encourage residents to explore their local parks and to enjoy a safe alternative to driving.

If you are not able to ride your bike to North School Park for the start of the bike ride, please park your vehicle in the North Garage adjacent to North School Park. Please be sure to eat a good breakfast before the ride, fill up your bike tires, put on sunscreen, bring a water bottle, and wear a helmet! This event is presented in partnership with the Village's Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee (BPAC).

The event also includes bicycle mechanical assistance. All riders are asked to wear a helmet and to be familiar with rules of the road and basic bicycle operation. To participate, please register using the links below. Day-of registration will open at 8 a.m. on the day of the ride.  Picture is provided courtesy of the Arlington Camera Club
