Older and younger adults

The Village of Arlington Heights is working toward becoming an Age Friendly Community.  The American Association of Retired Persons Network of Age-Friendly States and Communities is the United States affiliate of the World Health Organization's Age-Friendly Cities and Communities Program.  This international effort helps cities prepare for rapid aging and urbanization.

Increasingly, communities are better adapting their structures and services to the needs of their ageing populations.  We hope that these age friendly efforts will make Arlington Heights even more livable for all ages.

Our first step is data gathering.  If you reside in the Village of Arlington Heights and are age 45 or over, please participate in the Age Friendly Survey between October 23 and  December 15.

If you are unable to participate in the online survey, there are other options.  We have volunteers lined up to assist you with the on-line survey on Saturday, October 26 and  Saturday,  November  2 between 9 a.m. and noon on a drop-in basis.

We can schedule an appointment for a volunteer to assist you with the online survey at the Arlington Heights Senior Center by calling 847.253.5532 or emailing us at

Also, you can pick up a copy at the senior center or the Health & Human Services Department located on the first floor of Village Hall, 33 S. Arlington Heights Road. If you would like the survey mailed to you, please call us at 847.253.5532.
