Health & Human Services provides comprehensive services to the community including environmental health, social services, nursing services and services for senior citizens. The focus of the department is to maintain an environment that provides optimum health, safety, comfort and well-being, now and for future generations.

Our Services
Core services provided by the Health & Human Services Department include:
  • Managing the Village's contract regarding recycling, landscape waste disposal and refuse removal programs.
  • Ensuring that people with disabilities can enjoy the community equally and are afforded an equal opportunity to participate in Village programs, services, and communications.
  • Providing inspectional services for public food establishments, commercial, institutional and industrial sites, day care facilities and swimming pools, as well as handling nuisance complaints.
  • Manage the weed-cutting program and testing programs for well water and radon.
  • Provide emergency assistance to those in need by administering a variety of programs including the Village’s Emergency Assistance Fund and Holiday Assistance Program, the Counseling Subsidy Program, Children at Play Scholarship Program, the Arlington Heights Park District Scholarship Program, the Ministerial Association Emergency Fund, and the Salvation Army Service Extension Fund.
  • The Village Nurses provide a Home Visit Program, day care inspections as well as provide a variety of low-cost health screening clinics, and influenza vaccinations

Sun Safety

Mosquito Bite Prevention
Not all mosquitoes are the same.  Different mosquitoes spread different viruses and bite at different times of the day.  Take a moment to view the Mosquito Bite Prevention Guide and learn how to safeguard yourself.
