Water Bill Improvement Project
In 2024, the Village will update its water billing software, to help allow for improved technological improvements regarding water usage and water billing. As we move from one software product to the new software product, credit card or debit card information that has been entered by users for autopayment, will NOT be transferred over. Users who have signed up for autopay via credit or debit card on the Village's website will need to re-sign up for autopay in the new platform beginning in February 2024.
Current autopay will remain in place through the December 22nd water bill, which will be charged on January 11th. Beginning in February 2024, autopay users will have to resign up.

The Village has approximately 21,000 water billing customers. This software change will affect approximately 2,000 customers, who have signed up for autopay via credit card through the Village’s website. If you have signed up for autopay by credit card or debit through the Village’s website, then you will need to re-sign up beginning in February 2024. The Village cannot sign you up, because we do not have store your credit card information, in order to keep your information safe. Auto Pay customers who signed up via a checking or saving account will NOT have to re sign up. That information will be transferred into the new system.
If you are one of the 2,000+ water billing customers affected, the Village will send information to your email on file, if you provided one. Postcards will also be sent to your home address on file.

The Village's current software platform limits the user experience. While paper billing will remain an option, the new software will allow users to sign up for e-billing to access their water bill online.
The improved software will also allow for upgrades associated with water meter change out programs in future years. These improvements will allow customers the option to sign up for a portal, to track water usage, set up leak alerts, and have improved online access to their water usage information. Without the software update, these future improvements will not be possible.

In efforts to protect your financial information, the Village does not store your credit or debit card information. Additionally, the current software system will not give away your credit or debit card information. Therefore, new credit or debit card information must be manually entered by users into the new software system beginning in February.
We understand that our residents are very busy in their day-to-day lives, and might have missed the email or postcard that the Village sends. Our goal is to work with our water billing customers to help make this transition as easy as possible. We will continue to reach out to customers throughout the transition process and will work with our residents and business owners who miss the February autopay date, on a case-by-case basis.
