Preventative Maintenance Program for Streets

Reclamite Process to Extend Life of Streets Begins May 12

Reclamite process

Starting on May 12, weather permitting, all Village streets that were resurfaced in 2019 will have a Reclamite Maltene Based Rejuvenating Agent applied to them, which is designed to extend the life of pavement by sealing the roadway from the elements. This pavement rejuvenation process will be handled by Corrective Asphalt Materials (CAM), which has been contracted by the Village for this process.

The work should take approximately one week to complete all streets. Check here for a map of all streets that will receive this application. Click here to review a list of streets receiving this application.

The process involves a few hours of work, depending on the weather. During that time the street must be free of parked vehicles to complete the maintenance work. The process includes having the street swept, spraying the liquid Reclamite on the pavement one lane at a time, and then applying limestone screenings.  Once the first lane has cured, CAM will then apply the Reclamite to the other lane.

You will be able  to  exit  your  driveway and drive through the work area. Please note that driving onto a driveway  before the curing process is complete may temporarily stain sidewalk, concrete, and brick  driveways. To avoid this, you may want to park on an adjacent street until the product has cured.

Construction signs will also be posted at the limits of each street stating "Fresh Oil Loose Gravel" prior to the work taking place.
