About the Vehicle Sticker Design
The Village of Arlington Heights's 2022 Vehicle Sticker will feature Frank White, charter member of the first all-volunteer fire department in Arlington Heights, serving first as the President of the department in 1894, and then by 1906, the Captain of Hose Company No. 1. He was later given a lifetime membership at 40 years of service. Frank also owned five successful barber shops in town. His impressive accomplishments are even more notable when recognizing he was one of the three African Americans to live in the Village in the late 19th Century. An exhibit, celebrating Mr. White’s life and contributions to our community, will be installed in Village Hall later this year in partnership with the Arlington Heights Historical Museum as part of the Village’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Project.
